The Department of mathematics Conducts Seminars, Conferences and Workshops yearly for benefits of the students and Faculty. Recently Department was organized one day workshop on INTRODUCTION TO SCIENTIFIC COMPUTING USING SCI-LAB AND MAXIMA.

Department of Mathematics was organized one day workshop on INTRODUCTION TO SCIENTIFIC COMPUTING USING SCI-LAB AND MAXIMA on 19.11.2021 in Auditorium of the new block. All the Mathematics Teachers of Degree Colleges which are affiliated to Karnatak University were invited. Responding to our invitation, around 60 delicates were attended the workshop and they have benefitted by enriching their knowledge of the SCI-LAB and MAXIMA soft-ware. Prof. H. S. Ramane, Chairman, Department of Mathematics was Chief Guest of the Inaugural function of the workshop. Principal Dr Darla Lazarus presided over the function. Dr (Smt) Prabhavati Mandalageri,Associate Professor,SK Arts College and HSK Science Institute Hubballi was the resource person. The Inaugural function was started with College prayer read by Miss Arpita Hugar. Dr G M Patil welcomed the august gathering and explained the purpose of conducting the workshop in his introductory speech.
The Chief Guest prof. H. S. Ramane released the Mathematics Laboratory practical manual which was prepared by Dr (Smt) Prabhavati Mandalageri on this occasion. He spoke on Mathematics practicals which are newly introduced to B.Sc. mathematics subject in NEP Scheme. He appreciated the Kittel Science College for its excellent work and also appreciated the Principal for his Major steps to improve the quality of teaching and facilities provided to students.
Principal Dr. Darla Lazarus gave Presidential remark. He added one point in his speech that every teacher should be deep knowledgeable person in the respective subject so that Students can understand the concept very clearly.
The resource person Dr (Smt) Prabhavati Mandalageri explained the SCI-LAB AND MAXIMA software’s very nicely in two different sessions. Teachers asked many questions to resource person and she clarified their doubts in the third session.
Prof. R Christopher, Department of Mathematics, Kittel science College Dharwad and Smt Geeta Walikar, Principal, Government First grade Degree College, Karwar were Felicitated on this occasion as both are nominated as members of Board of Studies in the subject mathematics in NEP Scheme. Dr G M Patil proposed vote of Thanks at the end of the workshop.
