Dear Students, Parents & Well- Wishers,
We live in a world defined by pervasive integration of Artificial Intelligence across all fields, rapid advancements in technology and deep global digital connectivity. Technology can make our world fair and smaller in terms of connectivity. But technology can also threaten privacy, erode security and fuel inequality.
In health sector AI enabled frontier technologies are helping to save lives, diagnose diseases and extend life expectancy. In education, virtual learning environments and distance learning have opened up programmes to students who would otherwise be excluded.
Meanwhile reports by groups such as Mckinsey suggest that 800 million people could lose their jobs to automation by 2030. There is a broad agreement that managing these trends will require changes in our approach to education- for instance, by placing more emphasis on science, technology, by teaching soft skills and resilience and by ensuring that people can re-skill and upskill throughout their lifetime.
Teachers play a crucial role in a technology-driven education by guiding student in understanding and applying information rather from simply delivering facts. While AI and digital tools can provide personalized content and automate basic tasks, teachers add essential values through mentorship, critical thinking support and fostering creativity.
Abraham Lincon in his letter to his son’s teacher writes: “steer him away from envy, if you can teach him the secrets of quiet laughter. In the school teach him that it is far honorable to fall than to cheat. Teach him to close his ears to a howling mob and to stand and fight if he thinks he is right”.
A teacher can teach a student to distinguish right from wrong to respect everyone, avoiding malice and to appreciate the strength in others.
Kittel science college embodies and inculcates all these values in all the students. As the college prayer endorses “may there be sent forth continually a stream of men and women who shall serve Thee faithfully in Thy world”, it has stood for doing so for nearly six decades.
As the college moves forward may she inspire and encourage young men and women to be leaders and pioneers I encourage the staff and the students to be spiritual, moral and intellectual torch bearers of this great nation. I believe that as we strive for excellence may we be rooted in faith and continue to trust our Lord, Savior and maker, Jesus Christ.
With gratitude I look back on the year that has gone by and I am confident and optimistic of the future. I thank the President of BMHEC & Bishop of KND, Rt Rev Martin C Borgai for his unwavering support and guidance. I thank the Chief Administrative |Officer Shri. Vijaykumar Dandin for leading from the front towards the progress of the college.
I wish the staff and the students success and happiness in the years to come.
May God bless us and peace to all.
Warm Regards,
Principal
