Our college has believed in holistic education for decades, considering the complete well-being of young girls and women. We recognize the significant impact of mental well-being on the wholesome development of an individual. This foresighted vision has paved the way for the evolution of the Counselling Unit. Well-trained and dedicated staff have been the backbone of the Counselling Unit. The unit grew in strength by offering counselling sessions, continuing its visionary journey under the leadership of the Principal and Heads of various Departments. We recognize the valuable contributions of a series of part-time counsellors. Additionally, we offer Counselling Orientation Programmes to all first-year UG students by trained faculty. Psychological assistance is offered by professionally trained counsellors to needy individuals belonging to the college community. Generations of women have been blessed by the services of the Counselling Unit and are living witnesses to its impact. The unit continues to function with the focused vision of demonstrating unconditional positive regard towards individuals to accompany them in their subjective healing journeys.
A lady staff member is nominated as the lady counsellor to guide female students in all their activities and attend to their academic and non-academic issues.
The Students’ Welfare Committee is the head of all student extra-curricular and co-curricular activities on the campus. It acts as an interface between the Institute’s administration and the students to sort out matters concerning student welfare. The Student Welfare Committee is responsible for developing, reviewing, and evaluating plans and setting directions for student affairs in accordance with the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the institute. The Committee focuses on the all-round development of the students by addressing their needs, providing counselling to slow learners, and fostering positive psycho-personal motivation and guidance to them.
The Student Welfare Officer is entrusted with the responsibility of the welfare of students and attending to them in consultation with the Principal and other colleagues belonging to different faculties. They are also largely responsible for maintaining discipline, a healthy atmosphere on the campus, and assisting in the overall development of the students in academic and extracurricular activities.
