Kittel Science College in Dharwad has a Student Representative Council (SRC) that is made up of both academic and non-academic associations. The SRC aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop their leadership qualities by participating in various activities. The representatives are selected based on their merit.
The college has several associations that offer students ample opportunities to participate in various activities. The SRC is chaired by the principal, who nominates various academic and non-academic associations and co-ordinates the activities with the consultation of senior faculty members.
The academic committees of the SRC include various committees such as Internal Exam Committee, Student Welfare Officer, Time-table, Attendance, Placement Cell and Career Guidance, Lady Counsellor, Parent-Teacher Association, Alumni, Youth-Red Cross Wing, Anti-Ragging Cell, Grievance Redressal Cell, Sexual Harassment and Discipline. On the other hand, the non-academic committees include Board of Sports, Library, Magazine, Fine Arts, Debate, NSS, NCC, Physical Science Association, Natural Science Association and Ladies Association etc.,
Selection of Secretaries and Joint Secretaries is based on merit for academic activities and their proficiency in the desired field. The General Secretary is selected among the Secretaries, and he/she will be from the V semester based on the highest score obtained in the previous examination. The SRC at Kittel Science College is a great platform for students to develop their leadership qualities and participate in various activities.
