Rules & Regulation of the Library 2022-23

  1. WORKING HOURS :

    Monday to Friday : 10.00 am to 5.30 pm
    Saturday : 10.00 am to 2.30 pm
    Closed during Sundays and Holidays.

  2. IDENTITY CARD IS A MUST :

    The entry in the Library is strictly against Identity Card. Students must show the Identity Card whenever demanded, otherwise they will not be allowed in the Library and they must sign in the ATTENDANCE REGISTER kept at the entrance of the library.

  3. BORROW OF BOOKS :

    Every bonafide student of the college should obtain an Indent Slip/ Demand-Slip from the Library. The indented books will be issued on the next day that is fixed for Home-Issues, and student should collect the books on production of Identity Card during the following timings. Students should note that without Identity Card books will not be issued.

    1. Reference Books : 10.15 am to 2.00 pm & 2.45 to 5.00 pm
    2. Home - Issue : 10.30 am to 2.00 pm & 2.45 to 5.30 pm
    3. Magazine : 11.00 am to 1.00 pm & 3.00 to 5.00 pm
    4. Overnight Issue : 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm
    5. If there is any holiday on the issue - day (for a particular class) then the books will be issued on the next day for the concerned class or the return date/due-date of previously issued will be automatically renewed for the next 15-days.

  4. BORROWER / RETURN OF BOOKS, MAGAZINES AND REFERENCE BOOKS :
    1. Lending/Home Issues :
      1. Students should stand in a queue and maintain a proper discipline. Students can borrow books only on the subjects they have offered for study. However, they can borrow books of general interest.
      2. The borrowed books can be kept only for 15-days, however he/she can get it renewed once again for 5-days, provided there is no claimant for the same book. If the book is not returned within the due date the penal fee of Rs.5/- per day will be levied.
    2. Periodicals : If a student wishes to borrow any periodical, magazine etc., he/she may do so by producing his/her Identity Card. These periodicals cannot be taken home without the written request.
    3. Reference Books :If a student wishes to borrow any reference book he/she may do so by producing his/her Identity Card and collect it back on return of the book on the same day before closing hours of Library (Reference books cannot be taken home or outside the premises).
  5. SILENCE SHOULD BE STRICTLY OBSERVED IN THE LIBRARY HALL :

    Students can talk only in whispers if necessity arises even with the library staff. If any student violates this rule he/she will be sent out of the library and the matter will be reported to the Principal for Disciplinary Action.

  6. Students should not tear-off pages of any book/periodical in the library, (in such case cost of the book/periodical will be recovered). Further they should not write any obscene matter or draw any obscene picture on the periodicals/ books/ walls/ tables etc., and if any student is found violating the rules the matter will be reported to the Principal for Necessary Disciplinary Action.

    1. Before closing of I/ II term of academic year the last date for return of books for respective classes will be notified by the Librarian. If they fail to return by the due date their hall tickets for annual examination will not be issued.
    2. Any suggestions from the students or any discussion by the student representative, may be brought to the Librarian between 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm and 4.00pm to 5.00pm during working hours of the Library.
