Welcome to Kittel Science College, Dharwad

Kittel Science College, Dharwad came into existence on June 20, 1968. It is managed by Karnataka Northern Diocese, Church of South India, Basel Mission Higher Education Centre-Dharwad and is permanently affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad.

The Institution is named after the celebrated Kannada scholar and lexicographer Rev. Ferdinand Kittel (1832-1903) who came to India as a missionary in 1853, deputed by the Basel Mission, Germany and compiled the voluminous and important Kannada- English Dictionary in 1893. His life and teachings set an example for young students to emulate.

The college is situated in the heart of the city and is conducive to students in the town and those who commute from neighbouring villages. Separate hostel facilities are provided for boys and girls. The college has a well-equipped library, laboratories, and a multi-gym/fitness centre. For organising co-curricular and extracurricular activities, the college has a seminar room with a seating capacity of 150. The college is also equipped with state-of-the-art auditoriums that can accommodate an audience of 600 each. In addition to the classrooms and laboratories, staff cabins are situated on each floor of the academic block. The campus has a canteen. State-of-the-art infrastructure amidst greenery is the hallmark of the college. Computer and networking facilities are housed in the college and are available to faculty and students. The college also has a playground.

The institution aims to impart sound, general, and value-based education in science. The cardinal desire of the college is to develop the whole personality of pupils or young minds with a spirit of dedication to service. We aim for scholarship, fellowship, and leadership. The college provides courses leading to a B.Sc. degree.
